The following was again before the House in third reading: SENATE BILL NO. 242 "An Act relating to concealed handgun permittees." Representative Bunde moved and asked unanimous consent that SB 242 be returned to second reading for the specific purpose of considering Amendment No. 1. There being no objection, it was so ordered. Amendment No. 1 was offered by Representatives Bunde and Porter: Page 1, lines 9 - 10: Delete "[IF THE PERSON HAS NOT BEEN IN ALASKA FOR MORE THAN 120" Insert "if the person has not (1) been in Alaska for more than a 90-day period after entry into the state; and (2) had an application for a concealed handgun 2002-04-15 House Journal Page 2931 permit rejected in this state because the person was unqualified under AS 18.65.705 or had a concealed handgun permit revoked or suspended by this state [120" Representative Bunde moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 1 be adopted. Objection was heard. Amendment to Amendment No. 1 was offered by Representative Croft: Delete "(1) been in Alaska for more than a 90-day period after entry into the state; and (2)" Representative Croft moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 1 be adopted. Representative Bunde objected. The question being: "Shall Amendment to Amendment No. 1 be adopted?" There being no objection, it was so ordered. Amendment No. 2 was offered by Representative Berkowitz: Page 1, line 9, following "AS 18.65.750 - 18.65.765": Insert "provided that the person is not or does not intend to become a resident of the state of Alaska" Representative Berkowitz moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 2 be adopted. Representative Croft objected.
